After the international match on 5 March 2014 against Chile in Stuttgart, Germany will play three further internationals on home soil before flying out to Brazil. The first fixture will see the team take on Poland in Hamburg on 13 May, marking a change from previous plans when it was envisaged that Mainz would be the venue for this game.

The second of Germany’s final World Cup preparation matches will take place in Mönchengladbach on 1 June 2014, while the third will be in Mainz on 6 June and will be a DFB international benefit match. The opponents, kick-off times and broadcasters for the matches in Mönchengladbach and Mainz on 1 and 6 June have yet to be determined.

Speaking about this schedule, DFB General Secretary Helmut Sandrock said: "Immediately after the World Cup draw we began working with the team’s sporting management to find solutions that ensure the national team is as well prepared as possible for the World Cup. I am extremely grateful to both the DFB Presidential Board, who confirmed the plans by written circular procedure today, and all partners involved for their flexibility."

Additional dates surrounding these World Cup preparations have also been confirmed. The training camp at Passeiertal in South Tyrol begins on 21 May 2014 and ends on 31 May, when the squad travel to the international match in Mönchengladbach. After that game, the players will have two more days with their families on 3 and 4 June before meeting up again in Mainz on 5 June. The squad is scheduled to fly to Brazil from Frankfurt am Main on 7 June 2014.
