World cup winner Mesut Özil’s goal for Arsenal FC against PFC Ludogorets Razgrad has been voted as the 2016/17 UEFA Champions League goal of the tournament. The 28-year old midfielder scored a stunning individual goal from a solo run back on 2nd November 2016.
The former Schalke and Werder Bremen player received 57% of the vote. Özil and Arsenal FC reached the quarter-finals of the tournament, however they were knocked out by FC Bayern München.
