Özil scores as Arsenal beat Stoke

World Champions Mesut Özil and Shkodran Mustafi's hopes of finishing inside the Champions League qualification spots this season are still intact, thanks to a 4-1 win over Stoke City on Saturday. Özil and Mustafi both played from the start, with the former bagging Arsenal's second. Arsene Wenger's side are in fifth place, a point behind Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool, and three behind former Bayern coach Pep Guardiola's Manchester City in third. Were the Gunners to finish as high as third, they'd qualify automatically for the Champions League. Fourth place would have to qualify for the group stages in the play-offs.

Sané assists in City’s win over Leicester

Leroy Sané and Manchester City remain on track for an automatic Champions League qualification place, as they won 2-1 against last season’s league champions Leicester City. After 36 matchdays, City occupy third place with a two-point advantage over Liverpool.

DFB Team attacker Sané set up David Silva’s opener in the 29th minute, before Gabriel Jesus doubled Guardiola’s team’s lead in the 36th minute from the penalty spot. Former Bundesliga striker Shinji Okazaki pulled one back for Leicester just before half time (42’). It seemed Riyad Mahrez had equalised with six minutes to play, but his goal was ruled out as the referee spotted that he touched the ball twice when striking his penalty.
