World Champion Mesut Özil is close to making his comeback for Arsenal. “It won’t be too much longer,” said the 26-year-old during an interview that has been published on the club’s homepage. Özil hasn’t played for the FA Cup holders and the team who currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League since the 2-0 loss to local rivals Chelsea on 5th October.
“I’m working hard every day in order to be fit again,” said Özil. “I want to be back at team training as quickly as possible.” The Germany international was diagnosed with a partial lateral collateral ligament tear in his left knee ahead of the European Championship qualifier against Poland, which Germany lost 2-0.
