Nicolas called up for injured Reimann

Germany U19 keeper Dominik Reimann of Borussia Dortmund suffered a shoulder injury in Saturday's training session ahead of their final group game with Austria at the U19 European Championship in Baden-Württemberg. Head coach Guido Streichsbier has named Borussia Mönchengladbach's Moritz Nicolas as a replacement for the injured Reimann. Nicolas was with the Germany U19 side in the pre-tournament training camp, but ultimately didn't make the final squad.

"I'm very sorry for Dominik. He was our no. 1 and always very reliable. I hope that he can return to playing soon," said Streichsbier. "Moritz was in our training camp. He knows the players and procedures, so he’ll integrate himself quickly."

Germany's U19s need a victory over Austria later on Sunday in order to secure third place in Group A. This would set up a play-off match to qualify for the U20 World Cup in South Korea next year. Five European sides are eligible to qualify for the World Cup – the four semi-finalists and the winner of the play-off between the third-place finishers in the two groups.

Florian Müller (FSV Mainz 05) is expected to replace Reimann against Austria after the BVB youngster had featured in goal against both Italy and Portugal.
