The new president of FIFA will be elected on 26th February 2016. FIFA’s Executive Committee, of which DFB President Wolfgang Niersbach is also a member, announced the date on Monday after a meeting in Zurich.
The new election has become necessary after Sepp Blatter announced his decision to resign on 2nd June in the wake of the corruption scandal.
