Neuer features in UEFA Team of the Year

Manuel Neuer has been included in the UEFA Team of the Year 2015. Bayern München’s World Cup winner won 59% of the votes for the goalkeeping position on UEFA’s website – the fourth-highest percentage in all positions for the 29-year-old. Fellow Germany internationals Jérôme Boateng and Thomas Müller were also included in the candidates, but did not make it into the first XI.

Austria international David Alaba did however make it into the side. Austria’s Footballer of the Year walked into the defence with 68% of the votes, which was the second highest percentage in the entire team after Barcelona’s Lionel Messi (70%).
