Neuer and Lahm in FIFA/FIFPro World XI 2013

Two German internationals have been named in the FIFA/FIFPro World XI 2013. Germany captain Philipp Lahm and national team goalkeeper Manuel Neuer were honoured alongside global superstars such as Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. "The highlight for us was winning the Champions League in London", said Neuer, who accepted the award in person together with fellow Bayern team-mates Lahm and Franck Ribéry.

There were no other Bundesliga players in the World XI. Bayern’s three stars were joined in the line-up by four Barcelona players and two each from Real Madrid and Paris St. Germain.

The FIFA/FIFPro World XI 2013:

Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich)

Defenders: Philipp Lahm (Bayern Munich), Sergio Ramos (Spain/Real Madrid), Thiago Silva (Brazil/Paris St. Germain), Dani Alves (Brazil/Barcelona)

Midfielders: Andrés Iniesta (Spain/Barcelona), Xavi (Spain/Barcelona), Franck Ribéry (France/Bayern Munich)

Forwards: Lionel Messi (Argentina/Barcelona), Cristiano Ronaldo (Portugal/Real Madrid), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Sweden/Paris St. Germain)
