Neid shortlisted for The Best Fifa Women’s Coach Award

Former Germany women’s head coach Silvia Neid is in the running to be crowned FIFA Women’s Coach of the Year. FIFA revealed the three nominees on Friday morning, with the trio of Neid, US head coach Jill Ellis and Swedish head coach Pia Sundhage completing the final shortlist.

Neid won the FIFA Women’s World Cup with Germany in 2007 and has already won The Best Fifa Women’s Coach Award twice in her career. She added to her list of achievements by winning an Olympic Gold Medal with the Germany women’s first team this summer. Silvia Neid ended her career as a football coach after the win against Sweden in the Olympic Games final.

The coaches and captains of national teams as well as chosen journalists will vote to decide the winner. The award ceremony will take place in Zurich on Monday 9th January 2017.
