Silvia Neid on…

...the current condition of the team: "We feel well prepared. We’ve been here for almost a week now and have acclimatised. And of course we’re now looking forward to it finally getting under way."

...the Germany team: "We’ve got a lot of strength in depth in particular this year. We’ve got a lot of quality on the bench and will not drop in class in case of changes. In terms of people and character, we’ve got a very strong team. We have a superb mixture of older and younger players."

...the opening game: "We have to compete from the off and go into the challenges strong. The players have to help each other and make space tight so that Ivory Coast can’t develop anything. And then we’ll try and play in the free space."

...the Ivory Coast team: "It’s not easy to gather video footage of the Ivory Coast as it’s their first World Cup. Despite that, we’ve analysed our opponents. They have incredibly quick players, who are strong in the tackle and link up well. We have to be ready for that. We can by no means allow ourselves to underestimate them and have to give 100%."
