Neid announces squad for upcoming EC-qualifiers

Germany's coach Silvia Neid has nominated 18 players for the two upcoming EC-qualifiers against Belgium (28.10., 1.00 pm) in Lübeck and the Netherlands (1.11., 8.00 pm) in Volendam. There are only a few changes from the line-up that had travelled to the World Cup and defended their world title.

Neid was only allowed to nominate a squad of 18 players instead of 21 as for the World Cup. "Unfortunately I had to drop three players from the squad. This is what I do not like, because every player who was at the World Cup had helped to defend the title. Thus, I would like to nominate them for the first home game against Belgium", said Neid.

Due to job reasons Sandra Smisek had to cancel their participation for the two Qualifiers. Instead of the striker from 1. FFC Frankfurt, Neid nominated Anja Mittag (Turbine Potsdam). Injured midfielder Renate Lingor (1. FFC Frankfurt) has been replaced by Sonja Fuss (FCR 2001 Duisburg). Ursula Holl (SC 07 Bad Neuenahr) from the World-Cup-team did not find her way into the squad for the matches against Belgium and the Netherlands, but ist at call.
