Mustafi's Champions League dream comes true

Shkodran Mustafi’s dream of playing Champions League football is coming true. The World Cup winner and two-time finalists FC Valencia qualified for this years competition following a 4-3 aggregate win over AS Monaco (1-2 on the night). They become the fifth team to compete in the group phase of this season’s Champions League alongside FC Barcelona, Real and Atlético Madrid, as well as FC Sevilla.

Centre back Mustafi started the match at the Stade Louis II as hhis side got off to a dream start when teammate Alvaro Negredo scored a delightful goal, lobbing the ball over goalkeeper Danijel Subasic in the fourth minute. Andrea Raggi and Elderson turned things around for the hosts, but it wasn't enough to put the French side through.
