Müller scores 13th of the season in Bayern win

Hamburger SV claimed a derby win in Bremen, Hannover 96 earned a crucial victory against Ingolstadt and Hoffenheim suffered another setback. League leaders FC Bayern maintained their perfect record in their eighth game at home. The Rhein-Main derby ended in a Mainz victory following a 15-minute delay.

HSV got off to a quick start in Bremen with Ivo Ilicevic on target from the edge of the area just three minutes after kick-off. Michael Gregoritsch doubled the visitors' advantage midway through the first half, when his direct free kick took a fortunate deflection. Anthony Ujah pulled one back for Werder shortly after the hour mark, but Nicolai Müller restored the two-goal advantage just a few minutes later as Hamburg claimed their first win in Bremen since February 2007.

1. FSV Mainz 05 were able to extend their unbeaten run against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, earning a 2-1 home victory. Yoshinori Muto opened the scoring in the fifth minute, before Yunus Malli doubled Mainz's advantage before the half-time whistle. The visitors had already been reduced to ten men at this point, after Alexander Meier was sent off following his second bookable offense. Haris Seferovic restored hope for Frankfurt with his goal in the 62nd minute, but in the end Mainz defended their lead and claimed the three points.

Bayern maintain perfect home record

Record champions FC Bayern hosted an in-form Hertha BSC and continued their impressive march at the top of the standings thanks to a 2-0 victory. The visitors defended valiantly but Thomas Müller broke the deadlock after 31 minutes to put Bayern ahead - his 13th league goal from 14 games. Kingsley Coman provided the second and final goal before the break, after a fine assist by Javier Martinez. It was Bayern win number eight from as many home games this season.

TSG 1899 Hoffenheim missed out on an opportunity to earn their first win in two months and to improve their situation in the standings, as they remain the bottom side following a 3-3 draw with Borussia Mönchengladbach. The visitors took an early lead from Fabian Johnson but Hoffenheim responded promptly with the equaliser through Steven Zuber. Eugen Polanski's strike after 34 minutes even saw the hosts take a 2-1 lead into half time against the Champions League side. Two minutes after the restart they were two goals up, as Nadiem Amiri profited from a mistake by Gladbach's Lars Stindl. Josip Drmic fired the Foals back into the contest after 56 minutes and Johnson's second goal with three minutes remaining meant Hoffenheim continue to prop up the table. André Schubert, meanwhile, has remained unbeaten in all nine Bundesliga games since being appointed Gladbach coach.

Marcelo, Leon Andreasen and Kenan Karaman grabbed first-half goals to give Hannover a commanding 3-0 lead. Uffe Bech added his name to the scoresheet with five minutes remaining, as Hannover 96 are now four points clear of the relegation zone. For Ingolstadt, it was only their second away defeat of the campaign.
