Müller, Reus and Götze present first pictures of EUROs competition

“Football Unites” is the motto of the competition which asks children and teenagers to create a Franco-German fan flag ahead of EURO 2016. This creative competition has been running since December, and now Thomas Müller and co. have presented some finished pieces. Let’s just say, there are some very good pieces of work here. The final date for submission is 25th March.

Anyone between the ages of twelve and 20 from France and Germany can show off their creativity and either draw a Franco-German work of art or create one with a computer. It does not matter whether this is done by an individual or, in the spirit of football, as a team. The only important part is that it shows cultural, linguistic and/or intercultural ideas from both countries, just like in the pictures being shown by Mario Götze, Thomas Müller and Marco Reus.

First prize is to meet the Germany team

If taking part wasn’t enough, then first prize for this competition will definitely persuade you. The winners will travel to Évian-les-Bains, on the southern shore of Lake Geneva, and spend three days with the Germany national team. As well as taking part in a training session with Die Mannschaft and visiting the DFB press centre for an actual press conference, the winners will get to personally meet some of the German players. There are also plans for intercultural workshops, Franco-German language workshops and a Franco-German film night.

The winner will be decided by a panel. This one-off youth competition was brought about through cooperation between Die Mannschaft, the Franco-German Youth Office, the Goethe Institute and the Institute Français d’Allemagne, as well as the French Football Federation.
