Moment of silence for Munich victims

Prior to kick-off in the game between SpVgg Unterhaching and VfR Garching in a Bavarian regional league match, Dr. Rainer Koch (President of Bavarian Football Association and 1st DFB Vice President of Amateurs) and Unterhaching President Manfred Schwabl stood united with both teams and attending fans during a moment of silence for the victims of the shooting rampage that took place in Munich on Friday.

"All football players in Bavaria are deeply shocked. The entire football family commemorates the victims and makes clear. We have to stand united now, in order to defend liberal values together," emphasised Koch. After consulting with Munich's police, the Bavarian football association decided against a cancellation of the games in Munich and the surrounding area. Every game played in the free state this weekend will have a moment of silence.
