Mittag heading from Rosengard to Paris

Germany international Anja Mittag has transferred from Swedish champion FC Rosengard, to French top club Paris Saint Germain. The Champions League finalists made the announcement on Thursday evening. Just a week ago, Mittag started in Rosengard’s 7-0 win over Kristianstads DFF.

The 30-year-old striker will be team mates with Josephine Henning, Linda Bresonik, Ann-Katrin Berger and Fatmire Alushi, who will miss the next couple of months because she is pregnant. Mittag’s contract will run all the way until June of 2017. “It is a massive honour for me to play in Paris next year,“ said Mittag. “I cannot wait to meet my new teammates and I hope we can win as many trophies as possible. Above everything, the Champions League title is our biggest goal.

Since coming to Rosengard three years ago, the Germany international won the Swedish league title twice in 2013 and 2014. Additionally, Mittag won the Super cup twice in 2012 and 2015. For her last game with the club, Mittag missed out on Germany’s training camp as they prepare for the World Cup taking place in Canada.
