Mittag and PSG up to second

On the 14th matchday of the French first division, Anja Mittag and Paris Saint-Germain took a big step towards securing a Champions League place. The team from the capital city triumphed 2-1 over Montpellier SC, and were able to climb above their rivals into second position.

Mittag was in the starting XI, and was subbed off in place of Marie-Laure Delie in the 78th minute. The goals were scored by Caroline Seger and Christiane, before Marie-Charlotte Leger scored what turned out to be a consolation goal in added time for the hosts.

Olympique Lyon remain top of the table after beating EA Guingamp 12-0. Ex-Potsdam player Ada Hegerberg bagged three goals, and is now top of the goalscoring charts with 25 for the season. Lyon are on 54 points, just three points ahead of PSG, and five ahead of Montpellier in third. On Friday 5th February, Lyon and PSG face each other in what is undoubtedly a crucial game in the title race.
