Mercedes-Benz supplies new team bus to Women's Senior Team

The Women’s World Cup takes place in Canada this year – a marketing day ahead of the tournament took place today. Mercedes-Benz used this opportunity to handover a new bus to the team. Rüdiger Kappel represented the company during the handing over of the new team bus.

“Reliable, comfortable and safe,” said Germany head coach Silvia Neid, when asked about the bus. “We require these things if we want to be successful on the pitch. We’re delighted to have a partner like Mercedes-Benz and to have a new team bus at our disposal, one that will mean we get to every game this year safely.”

A Mercedes-Benz Tourismo bus has been given to the team: “The Tourismo has been manufactured for 20 years and remains the best of its kind in terms of safety, but also for design reasons. It was our best seller last year. We hope the team enjoy the bus and that their trips to games are safe,” said Rüdiger Kappel.

The second generation of the Tourismo was inaugurated in 2006 and is the market leader. The original model was 12m long but has developed in terms of design and facilities. Currently, there are seven different models in the range, all of which have their own unique selling points.

Long term partnership

The Tourismo is an impressive piece of engineering: It is 12.96m long, has a 10.7l engine and has a top of the range specification, including the capability to connect to the internet, meaning that the team can remain online when on their travels.

The partnership between the DFB and Mercedez-Benz has been in place for over 40 years. The company have been the organisations general sponsor since 1990. The centre point of the partnership is their work for both the men’s and women’s senior teams.
