Marozsan, Bremer and Henning champions with Lyon

Germany internationals Dzenifer Maroszan, Josephine Henning and Pauline Bremer secured the French title with Olympique Lyon with two games to spare on Monday. With DFB captain Marozsan in the starting eleven, France’s top team thrashed ASJ Soyaux 9-0 to ensure they cannot be caught at the top of the table. Closest chasers HSV Montpellier are now eight points behind with just two matches remaining. Midfielder Bremer was out with an injury but she had already won the title with Lyon last year. Henning also did not feature.

The triumph represents Olympique Lyon’s eleventh title in a row, meaning that the club is still on course to repeat their treble from last year. Head coach Patrice Lair’s side meet Paris St. Germain in the French cup final on 19th May, both teams will then contest the Champions League final in Cardiff on 1st June (20:45 CEST).
