Markus Gisdol extends contract with Hoffenheim

1899 Hoffenheim manager Markus Gisdol has extended his current contract with the club, which was meant to expire on 30th June 2016. The club announced on Thursday that he has extended his contract by a further two years until 2018. 45-year-old Gisdol took over at Hoffenheim in April 2013 and kept the side in the Bundesliga after winning the relegation playoff with 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

“I believe that a lot can still happen at the club. In the end, it was an easy decision for me. We’ve taken some huge steps over the last two years and I can see exciting potential for development,” said Gisdol. “It was always our aim to extend the current contract early. We want to continue with the successful work that Markus has put in. It was a logical step,” said chief executive Peter Rettig.
