Man United claim twelfth FA Cup win

Record English champions Manchester United have won the FA Cup for a twelfth time. Without injured Germany captain Bastian Schweinsteiger on board, the Red Devils secured a nervy 2-1 win over outsiders Crystal Palace after extra time, despite going 1-0 down in normal time and playing with ten men for the final 15 minutes.

After a fairly uneventful first half, Palace took the lead in the 78th minute through Jason Puncheon. United trailed for just three minutes though, levelling the scores courtesy of Juan Mata. The game went into an extra 30 minutes at 1-1, and it looked as if the London club had the advantage as Chris Smalling was shown a second yellow on the stroke of half time of extra time. However, Jesse Lingard volleyed home spectacularly in the 110th minute

Morata seals the double

Injured Sami Khedira watched on as Juventus lifted the Coppa Italia yesterday. They beat AC Milan 1-0 after extra time. The decisive goal was scored by Alvaro Morata after 110 minutes. Milan are now on a five-year trophy drought, whereas Juventus’ stunning run of trophy success continues.

Ibrahimovic fires PSG to victory

Zlatan Ibrahimovic was the star of the show as Paris St. Germain beat Olympique Marseille 4-2 in the final of the French Cup. Kevin Trapp wasn’t included in the squad for the game.

Blaise Matuidi gave PSG the lead early on but Florian Thauvin equalised soon after. A brace from Ibrahimovic as well as a further strike from Edinson Cavani extended their lead. Even though Michy Batshuayi got one back for Marseille late on, they were unable to force extra time.
