Löw, who guided Germany to its fourth World Cup title in Brazil last summer, was also included in the Hall of Fame of German Sports. The Golden Sport Pyramid vote has been carried out since 2000 with former laureates and the foundation council making up an independent jury.
Former winners of the award include Steffi Graf, Katarina Witt, Franz Beckenbauer, Heiner Brand, Henry Maske and Hamburg legend Uwe Seeler. "It's quite a short list, which makes this award even more special," said Löw.
