Löw receives "Sports Legend" award

Germany national team head coach Joachim Löw has received a special award. On 5th November, the 55-year old will receive his “Sports Legend” prize at the Sportpresseball at the Alte Oper (Old Opera) in Frankfurt. The World Cup winning coach follows in the footsteps of sporting legends like Michael Schumacher, Katarina Witt, Boris Becker, Franz Beckenbauer and Heiner Brand. The prize recognises the life achievements of outstanding sporting personalities.

“Joachim Löw has successfully modernised the Germany men’s football team and has performed his role competently, with composure and with a sense of purpose,” said Sportpresseball organiser Jörg Müller about the decision. “He has contributed greatly to making sure that the Germany national team gives a positive image of Germany worldwide.”
