Löw: "Everyone did their job well"

Strong performance, fantastic game, clear victory. Germany beat Italy 4-1 in their second friendly of the international break. The players and their manager Joachim Löw were understandably pleased after the game. DFB.de gathered their post-match thoughts.

Joachim Löw: We played cleverly today, defended well and attacked well. Mesut Özil and Toni Kroos did their jobs at defensive midfield brilliantly. All of my players did their jobs well today.

Mats Hummels: Today we saw what happens when we take to the pitch with the right attitude. Everything went according to plan today. Our makeshift back five worked well.

Toni Kroos: We wanted to work forward from a solid defence today, and we did so successfully. Obviously it was good that we showed a different side of us from the game against England. Friendly game or not, I don’t care. I want to win every game.

Mario Götze: I’m very happy. For me it was extremely important to be playing again. I’ve missed it. It’s fantastic that the manager has continued to put his trust in me. It was a brilliant to be on the pitch again.

Antonio Rüdiger: Today we didn’t just play for 60 minutes, but for 90. We were focused from the first minute until the last.
