Löw congratulates champions Bayern: "It's an incredible achievement"

Treble-winners Bayern Munich have become the earliest league winners in Bundesliga history. Led by Germany captain Philipp Lahm and his deputy Bastian Schweinsteiger, the defending champions defeated Hertha BSC 3-1 on Matchday 27 to put themselves beyond the reach of any other side. DFB.de marked the occasion by polling views on Munich's triumph.

National coach Joachim Löw: "It's an incredible achievement for Bayern to win the championship at such an early stage and I can only congratulate everyone at the club who has helped to make that happen. Congratulations to FC Bayern, particularly coach Pep Guardiola! He has developed the team even further, and their dominance and possession clearly bear his hallmark. Bayern's mentality is to win each and every match, and they have a clear game plan that they execute consistently from the first minute to the last. The players exude total confidence. Pep Guardiola calls for playing solutions and Bayern are extremely well equipped in this respect, even out wide. This definitely sets them apart from the teams chasing them. They can compensate for injuries better than anyone else; anyone can be replaced. Munich definitely have the chance to repeat last season's success, and there's still a lot to be done – the Champions League is only just getting underway for them. I have the feeling they're extremely comfortable in the role of favourites and being the team everyone wants to bring down. Of course, I'm also delighted for our national players at Bayern as this title will give them additional momentum. We've got even greater goals to pursue together this year."

National team manager Oliver Bierhoff: "My hearty congratulations go to everyone at FC Bayern responsible for this success. FC Bayern are a top brand with huge recognition across the globe now and not only because of their sporting achievements. I hope Bayern can continue to exhibit these strong performances on the international stage. Success doesn't come easily; it's the product of hard work and discipline. Bayern created immensely high expectations for themselves by winning the treble last season. They can all deal with this pressure, but ultimately you also need a bit of luck. So I wish that for Bayern too, so they can go on and win even more titles this season."

DFB President Wolfgang Niersbach: "In the 51-year history of the Bundesliga, hardly anyone would have believed that any team could pull off such an exceptional landslide victory, myself included. That proves just how exceptional Bayern's performances have been, and it's the result of collaboration between the Board, the coach and the team. My sincere congratulations go to FC Bayern Munich for this German Championship triumph."

DFB 1st Vice President Dr Rainer Koch: "Bayern Munich have moved on seamlessly from their treble-winning season and have played attractive, captivating football under Pep Guardiola. I'd like to pass on my warmest congratulations to the team and all those at the club on their 24th German Championship title; hopefully it won't be the only title they win this season. After sealing the first German treble last year, perhaps Bayern Munich can reach another historical milestone and be the first team to successfully defend their Champions League title."

DFB General Secretary Helmut Sandrock: "My heartfelt congratulations go to the club and team at FC Bayern on their German Championship achievement. The club put itself in an ideal position with coach Pep Guardiola after such extraordinary success last season. Since then, the team have taken their game to yet another level, which makes this league title all the more special in what is already such an eventful period for the club. Bayern are deserved title winners and I'm excited to see how the rest of the season will play out."
