Head coach Jürgen Klopp and Germany international Emre Can were involved in a spectacular 5-4 away victory against relegation candidates Norwich City on Saturday, claiming their first league win in 2016 and ending a poor run of form in the Premier League.
The game was a rollercoaster ride of emotions for Jürgen Klopp on the sidelines, as he witnessed Roberto Firmino’s 1-0 opener being turned into a 3-1 deficit nine minutes into the second half. But the Reds battled back and levelled the score thanks to goals from Jordan Henderson and Firmino once more. James Millner’s goal with 15 minutes left on the clock gave Liverpool the lead again, but Norwich bagged a dramatic 4-4 equaliser in stoppage time, before Adam Lallana secured an unbelievable winner to claim the three points for Liverpool.
Man United without Schweinsteiger
Bastian Schweinsteiger remains sidelined for his club Manchester United. The Germany captain is not in the squad for United’s home encounter against Southampton on Saturday, as coach Louis van Gaal confirmed prior to the match.
Schweinsteiger continues to struggle with a knee problem, an injury he sustained on January 9th in a 1-0 FA Cup victory over Sheffield United. The World Champion has since then missed three games for the Red Devil.
