Die Mannschaft goalkeeper Bernd Leno is staying with Bayer 04 Leverkusen. Ahead of yesterday’s game against HSV, the club announced that he had extended his current deal and is now contracted to the club until June 2020. The 24-year-old was due to be out of contract at the end of this season.
Leno stated that he signed “because I feel at home in Leverkusen. I’ve been impressed by the way that the club has developed in recent years.” Sporting director Rudi Völler added that the goalkeeper “is the sort of player who wants to help us achieve things.”
