Kruse: "It’s incredible when you look at who we’ve beaten"

There was real drama on matchday 33 in the Bundesliga. Champions Bayern München with Jérôme Boateng and Bastian Schweinsteiger lost in Freiburg. Mats Hummels and Dortmund were defeated in Wolfsburg. Christoph Kramer and Max Kruse celebrated securing direct qualification for the Champions League with Borussia Mönchengladbach, while Antonio Rüdiger collected an important point in the relegation battle. DFB.de got the reaction of some Germany internationals. Today we’ve got the thoughts of World Champions Boateng, Hummels and Kramer. There’s also comments from Kruse and Rüdiger.

Werder Bremen 0-2 Borussia Mönchengladbach

Max Kruse: "We’re very happy. We will talk about what we’re going to do tonight on the bus. We’ll definitely have one or two beers. We haven’t lost since the winter break and it’s incredible when you look at who we’ve beaten - Dortmund, Bayern, Hoffenheim, Wolfsburg, Leverkusen. We now have 66 points – another year that could have been enough to challenge for the title. When you look at where the club was four years ago then it’s clear that the manager has played an important part in where we are today."

Christoph Kramer: "I think the manager is the main reason for our success. As a team, we have taken things game by game. And I’m not just saying that. We’re unbelievably solid at the back and everyone plays for each other. It’s amazing to sign off after qualifying for the Champions League."

VfB Stuttgart 2-1 Hamburger SV

Antonio Rüdiger: "We deserved to win, we played really well. We didn’t allow them to carve out many opportunities apart from the set-piece they scored from. We’re now through the "semi-final" and travel to Paderborn next week where we want to win."

SC Freiburg 2-1 FC Bayern

Jérôme Boateng: "We just have to play better football than we did today. We have to apologise to our fans for that."

VfL Wolfsburg 2-1 Borussia Dortmund

Mats Hummels: "First of all, it’s a real shame not to be involved and then to lose. We could have done more and got something out the game."
