Kroos scores in Real victory

Real Madrid put their top form on display when the defending champions beat Deportivo La Coruna 3-0 with the help of a goal from world champion Toni Kroos (62’) in their La Liga season opener and currently sit at the top of the league.

In addition to Kroos, Gareth Bale (20’) and Casemiro (27’) got on the scoreboard for Los Blancos. The squad weren’t missing depth, despite Best FIFA Men’s Player Cristiano Ronaldo being suspended. Reigning champions Chelsea and Germany international Antonio Rüdiger enjoyed their first victory of the season on Sunday in a London derby against Tottenham Hotspur. Marcos Alonso scored a brace for the Blues either side of a Michy Batshuayi own goal.

Confed Cup winner Rüdiger played the full 90 minutes for Chelsea. Both sides are level on three points having won and lost a game each so far this season.

Paris St. Germain celebrated their third win after just three games in the French Ligue 1 when last year’s runners-up beat Toulouse 6-2.

Neymar (31’, 90+1’), Adrien Rabiot (35’), Edison Cavani (75’), Javier Pastore (82’) and Layvin Kurzawa (84’) provided the goals for the home team and Julian Draxler came on to join the action in the 85th minute. Toulouse initially took the lead through Max Gradel in the 18th minute, after which an own goal from Thiago Silva (78’) provided their second.
