Klose fires Lazio to victory

Miroslav Klose led Lazio to a 2-0 home win over Inter Milan. The World Cup winner scored the opener, playing a one-two with Senad Lulic before firing in past goalkeeper Samir Handanovic with eight minutes on the clock. Six minutes before the final whistle, Antonio Candreva added a second for the home side, who ended the game with a one-man advantage thanks to Jeison Murillo's late red card.

Following braces against Bergamo and Palermo, it was Klose's fifth goal in 21 games this season. The 37-year-old has also provided eight assists. Lazio sit in eighth place in the table and still hold out hope of qualifying for the Europa League. Should Juventus win the cup final against AC Milan, sixth place would be enough for Lazio. Sassuolo are currently in sixth, four points ahead of Roma with two games to play.

Mustafi's Valencia lose to Villarreal

Shkodran Mustafi and FC Valencia fell to a defeat in the Spanish Primera Division. On matchday 36, Valencia lost 2-0 to Europa League quarter-finalists Villarreal thanks to goals from Samuel and Adrian Lopez. Valencia suffered their first defeat after a four-game unbeaten run. Mustafi put in a strong performance and was not at fault for either goal. Villarreal defended fourth place with the win, keeping them in the hunt for Champions League qualification, whilst Valencia sit in eighth place and will not be playing in Europe next season.
