Kimmich: "It’s a really big deal"

After the match it’s to the microphones. Reporters ask, players answer. Every Monday, DFB.de looks for quotes from Germany senior and academy internationals. What do the players have to say about their performances? Today’s line-up includes: Joshua Kimmich, Julian Weigl, Kevin Volland and May Meyer.

SV Darmstadt 98 0-3 Bayern München

Joshua Kimmich: Every child that plays football dreams of one day playing in the Bundesliga. To play for Bayern is obviously a really big deal and it made extremely happy today.

Borussia Dortmund 3-0 Bayer Leverkusen

Julian Weigl: We gave everything again, so did the fans. Obviously it’s a brilliant feeling to then be able to celebrate together. You want that to happen as often as possible. When I first came to the Signal Iduna Park five years ago, Dortmund also won 3-0 against Leverkusen. Barrios scored two goals on that day and Rangelov got the other. To now be standing on the pitch and get the three points as well is an amazing feeling.

1. FSV Mainz 05 3-1 1899 Hoffenheim

Yunus Malli: Obviously I really enjoyed that out there today. A win with three of my goals, that’s something special. It’s an indescribable feeling you get when the fans cheer for you like that. I love celebrating with them. The referee offered me the match ball – I’m sure I’ll find a place for it at home.

Kevin Volland: The fans will want to know what's wrong, and in truth we're lacking a bit of luck at the moment. I could have made it 2-1. We battled well and ran hard, but we're just lacking in self belief. Nothing's working for us. We need to work hard to come out of this together. We're allowing our opponents too many chances. Yunus Malli just took the ball and fired it in – that was the difference between us today. Against Dortmund we need to give everything as a team. They run tirelessly, which will be hard for us, but we need to give something back to the fans.

VfB Stuttgart 0-1 Schalke 04

Max Meyer: Stuttgart were clearly the better side. Ralf Fährmann had a stormer and really won us the three points. We only really had one stroke of magic in the entire 90 minutes – Leroy Sane did really well to set himself through one-on-one, and he converted well too. We will take the three points and are very happy after a straining week. We took our best chance of the game and wanted the win more than our opponents. We really showed our quality today.

Leroy Sané: All in all, we probably didn't deserve to win today, we have to be honest about that. We can all be thankful to Ralf Fährmann, he was superb. My own performance in the first half wasn't so good, and the manager told me exactly that at half time. I didn't do enough defensively, but we regrouped at half time. I'm obviously very pleased with my goal, but now it's a case of recovering and looking ahead to Wednesday's home game.

FC Augsburg 2-0 Hannover 96

Ron-Robert Zieler: We need to achieve the turnaround very soon. The team showed great willingness and desire. On Wednesday we have another important game and we’ll want to take all three points.
