Khedira’s Juve win Derby D’Italia

Sami Khedira’s Juventus have won the game of this Serie A matchday, as the Bianconeri won 1-0 at home against rivals Inter Milan in the Derby D’Italia. The World Champion started in a two in front of the defence alongside Miralem Pjanic and played the whole 90 minutes. Juan Cuadrado was the matchwinner, scoring a stunning effort from around 25 yards out after the ball fell to him from a corner. Each team had numerous chances in a fairly even game, with the hosts hitting the woodwork twice. Former Bundesliga player Ivan Perisic received a red card at the end of the game for dissent (94’).

The Turin giants (54 points) currently enjoy a six point advantage over second place Napoli and have also played a game less that their rivals from the south. Antonio Rüdiger will be in action with AS Roma on Tuesday (20:45 CET) against Fiorentina and would leapfrog Napoli with a win.

Sané shines in City’s narrow win

Leroy Sané and Manchester City have taken full advantage of Liverpool and Arsenal’s slip-ups this weekend. With a last-minute win against Swansea City (2-1), Pep Guardiola’s side overtook their rivals to rise to third place in the table.

Sané played the full 90 minutes and set up Gabriel Jesus' opener after some strong dribbling into the penalty area. The Brazilian put the Citizens into the lead after just ten minutes, but the visitors equalised through Sigurdsson (81') and seemed to have snatched a point. However, young Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus struck again in the second minute of stoppage time to make sure his side claimed all three points. 21-year-old Sané has recently been getting much more game time under his belt at his new club. Ilkay Gündogan is still out with an ACL injury.
