World Cup-winner Sami Khedira has been ruled out for his first competitive game with his new club Juventus. The 28-year-old sustained an injury to his right thigh during last season’s Champions League finalists 2-0 friendly defeat to Olympique Marseille and was subbed off after 30 minutes.
According to Juve boss Massimiliano Allegri, Khedira will not be available for the Supercup this coming Saturday against cup winners Lazio in Shanghai. The former Stuttgart midfielder moved to the Italian double winners in Turin on a free transfer from Spanish record champions Real Madrid this summer.
