Khedira officially unveiled: "Forza Juve!"

World Cup winner Sami Khedira has high hopes for his time at new club Juventus. “The club and myself share the same philosophy. We want to win things – we want to be fighting for every title,” explained the midfielder when he was presented to the media earlier. He wants to “strengthen the team,” having joined on a free transfer from Real Madrid until 2019.

The 28-year-old looked resplendent in pink and wowed the watching journalists by giving a number of answers in Italian. Khedira added that he left a huge club but feels has moved to another of Europe’s biggest sides. He then went on to explain that is an honour to follow in the footsteps of famous players like Zinedine Zidane, Michel Platini and Jürgen Kohler. “I will give it my all, in the hope of writing history during my spell here. Forza Juventus!”

Khedira arrived in the city on Monday, three days before training gets under way. “I feel at home here,” he said. “I want to help Juventus reach the pinnacle of European football.” The midfielder will wear the number 28, which has been a lucky one for him thus far.
