Khedira and Juventus clinch title after Napoli lose to Roma

Juventus have been crowned Serie A champions for the fifth time in a row after Napoli lost 1-0 to AS Roma in the Monday afternoon game. Radja Nainggolan grabbed the winner shortly before the end of the match. The result means it is now mathematically impossible for Napoli to catch the Old Lady of Italy, who beat Fiorentina 2-1 on Sunday.

Khedira’s third title in third country

Khedira has now won his third league title in his third country. In 2007, the Germany international won the German championship with VfB Stuttgart, in 2012 he won La Liga with Real Madrid and now he can boast an Italian league title. The midfielder has made 20 appearances so far this season for Allegri’s side, and registered five goals and four assists along the way.

AS Roma and Antonio Rüdiger have put pressure on Napoli with today’s win, shortening the gap to the second-placed side to just two points. Were they to overtake Napoli, they would not need to go through a play-off to reach next season’s Champions League group stages.
