Juventus march on

Italy’s record champions Juventus have managed a successful final dress rehearsal in the Serie A ahead of their Champions League clash at FC Porto next week. World Champion Sami Khedira featured in the starting line-up during Juve’s 4-1 victory at relegation candidate US Palermo, extending their lead at the top of the table to ten points. Closest rivals AS Roma, with Germany international Antonio Rüdiger in their squad, will look to keep the pace Juve in their game against FC Turin on Sunday.

Juventus took the lead through Claudio Marchisio after 13 minutes, before Paulo Dybala doubled their advantage just before the break. Argentina international Gonzalo Higuain notched his goal shortly after the hour-mark and Dybala grabbed a second late in the game. Palermo managed a late consolation in stoppage time from Iwajlo Tschotschew. Khedira missed a good opportunity after 21 minutes and did not return for the second half, as he was replaced by Mario Lemina.
