Jones: "Of course I’m now questioning my decisions"

Defending champions Germany are out of EURO 2017 after losing 2-1 to Denmark in the quarterfinal. DFB.de got the post-match reaction from the bitterly disappointed DFB Women.

STEFFI JONES: Of course I’m now questioning my decisions. We will analyse the European Championships and then we’ll see if our system worked or if we should have done things differently. We’re bitterly disappointed. We need to ask what went wrong and what we failed to understand after the group games.

ALMUTH SCHULT: Denmark threw absolutely everything at that today. We had some chances but struggled to beat their impressive goalkeeper. We had better body language. This isn’t an excuse but when you’ve played at 20:45 (CEST) for weeks and then all of a sudden you have to warm up at 11:00 (CEST), it’s quite an adjustment to make. But we can’t complain as we simply didn’t perform well enough out on the pitch today. We were lacking in aggression and conviction. We once again failed to take our chances. It’s really disappointing.

LENA GOEßLING: We’re extremely disappointed. Denmark have always been a strong side.
