Jupp Heynckes has agreed a two-year deal with Bayer Leverkusen, the Bundesliga club said on Friday. The previous coach Bruno Labbadia terminates his deal to sign a three-year-contract with Hamburger SV.
"During my brief spell at Bayern I felt the fire in me still burning," the 64-year-old Heynckes said. "That is why I gladly take on this job."
The 43-year-old Labbadia returns to the club where he played twenty years ago. "Labbadia stands for professionalism, passion and a clear game philosophy," said Hamburg sports director Dietmar Beiersdorfer.
