Hertha BSC Berlin kept the pace and their four-point-deficit to leaders Eintracht Braunschweig by beating Energie Cottbus 2-1 (1-0) in the top match of Round 17 of the 2nd Bundesliga on Monday.

Braunschweig beat FSV Frankfurt 2-1 in an away game on Sunday. MSV Duisburg left the last place in the table by winning 2-0 at Paderborn and 1. FC Köln beat FC Ingolstadt at home to extend their unbeaten streak to five games.

The last unbeaten team in german football lost its first game: FC St. Pauli won 1-0 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern on round 17 of 2. Bundesliga. The "Red Devils" missed the jump to second place and are still 3rd of the table. The team from Hamburg has after the 5th win of the season 7 points between itself and the relegation place 16.

1. FC Union Berlin won 2-1 against struggling VfL Bochum and Erzgebirge Aue tied with SV Sandhausen.

VfR Aalen and 1860 München draw 1-1 (0-0). Robert Lechleiter (Aalen) and Bobby Shou Wood (1860) scored the goals. There were no goals in the 0-0 draw between Dynamo Dresden and Jahn Regensburg.
