Handball hero to make draw

A new European Handball champion will take centre stage on Wednesday when the draw for the semi-finals of the DFB Cup takes place. Andreas Wolff was between the sticks as Germany lifted the title last weekend. After the culmination of the VfL Bochum/FC Bayern München quarter-final, all eyes will be on Wolff. DFB Vice-President Peter Frymuth will oversee proceedings.

Wolff’s safe hands played a crucial part in Germany’s success and supporters will be hoping that the Midas touch returns on Wednesday. The remaining quarters see Bayer Leverkusen face Werder Bremen, VfB Stuttgart host Borussia Dortmund and 1. FC Heidenheim entertain Hertha BSC.

One of Wolff’s international colleagues has already made a DFB Cup draw this term. Carsten Lichtlein was responsible for the quarter-final pairings.
