Gündogan: "The 7-1 result is not something we think about anymore."

… BRAZIL: Brazil will be as tough as Spain were. Brazil are definitely one of the favourites for this summer's World Cup and that makes Tuesday’s game even more exciting.

… HIS ROLE IN THE TEAM: Everyone in this team has the qualities to play. How good a team is depends on the strength in depth and not just those players on the pitch.

… HIS WORLD CUP CHANCES: I’m glad to be at such a good level so soon before the tournament. I am fit and feel good to go. It would be so good to be in Russia.

… THE 7-1 AT THE 2014 WORLD CUP: We all sat watching the TV absolutely amazed, you don’t see those kind of results in a World Cup semi-final usually. But the current Brazil team cannot be compared to that one. The 7-1 result is not something we think about anymore. Just having the two sides play against each other is special.

… THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE BRAZILIANS: The Brazilians have really developed in the last few years and found their level. They have really stabilised between defence and attack and all of their best players have been part of the best and biggest clubs in the world. So they are experienced when it comes to the big games. The mixture of the team and the playing philosophy works. That’s what makes them so good right now.

… LEROY SANÉ: The speed of Leroy Sane with the ball is something special. He has managed to turn his attention to the important things. He has made great strides this season.

… HIS "HOME GAME" IN BERLIN: "The game with Brazil will be great contest and a personal highlight in my career. We want to win the game and are preparing for that. Many of my friends and family will be there.

… A POTENTIAL CALL UP TO THE WORLD CUP SQUAD: I want to showcase myself for my country and my club. The selections are not made until May and that’s what counts for me. The praise from Joachim Löw was obviously nice to get.

LEROY SANÉ ON …

… BRAZIL: The coach will be training us to get the best out of us. They are a very strong team, even without Neymar. All of us will be up for it and we want to win the game.

… THE YOUNG PLAYERS IN THE SQUAD: Germany has developed some very very good players. We have a good mix of old and young players, who all know how to deal with the pressure if they come on in a game.

… HIS STRENGTHS IN THE TEAM: I always try to exploit the gaps and beat players one-on-one, and I want to do that for my country as well.

… ILKAY GÜNDOGAN: He is a class player. He helps Manchester City in so many ways as well. Hopefully he can do that for the national team as well.
