Grindel, Koch, Löw and Bierhoff congratulate record champions

Bayern München have clinched a historic fourth consecutive Bundesliga title on matchday 33. The now 26-time champions beat FC Ingolstadt 2-1 on Saturday, putting them out of sight of Borussia Dortmund. DFB President Reinhard Grindel, Germany head coach Joachim Löw and national team manager Oliver Bierhoff congratulate the record champions via DFB.de.

Reinhard Grindel, DFB-President: On behalf of the DFB, I congratulate this season’s champions on an impressive season and a deserved title win. That FC Bayern München can now celebrate becoming the first club in Bundesliga history to win four titles in a row is a testimony to an incredible manager, a great time and the overall leadership of Karl Hopfner and Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. Now I am looking forward to the DFB Cup final on 21st May between the champions and Borussia Dortmund in Berlin.

Dr. Rainer Koch, DFB vice president: FC Bayern München have had an incredible season despite their Champions League exit this week. They are celebrating a fully deserved 26th championship. To play at such a high level in the Bundesliga, DFB Cup and Champions League is no easy feat, even with a world-class squad.

Joachim Löw, Germany head coach: I congratulate everyone at FC Bayern on the title win – Pep Guardiola, the players and the club staff. The fourth consecutive win is the product of great quality, huge determination and unbelievable consistency of this Bayern side in recent years.

Oliver Bierhoff, national team manager: Congratulations to FC Bayern! You can only congratulate Karl Hopfner, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and the rest of the club on their record title.
