Grindel congratulates FC Bayern: “A moment for the football history books”

FC Bayern München have won the league for the 27th time. Following the emphatic 6-0 win on the road on Matchday 31 of the Bundesliga which led to Bayern’s crowning with three games left to play, DFB president Reinhard Grindel and DFB secretary general Dr. Friedrich Curtius congratulated the Munich side on their championship. Germany manager Joachim Löw and Oliver Bierhoff were among the first to pass on their congratulations. DFB.de collect the reactions.

Reinhard Grindel: FC Bayern München’s fifth consecutive league title have further built upon their legacy and have written a moment for the football history books. The even bigger achievement is that FC Bayern have had such continued success, setting new standards year in year out. My congratulations go out to the team, the staff, and everyone responsible under the name of the DFB on yet another impressive season and the club’s 27th league title overall. Congratulations in particular to our Germany international in Bayern colours, World Cup winning captain Philipp Lahm, whose incredible career has ended with another league title.

Dr. Friedrich Curtius: Congratulations to FC Bayern München, who have had another exceptional Bundesliga season. Only one conclusion can be drawn when you look at how they topped the table for long and were then crowned champions with three games left to play – it’s well deserved.

Joachim Löw: Congratulations to FC Bayern on their well-deserved and masterful campaign which led to a title win, and especially to manager Carlo Ancelotti and his players. Bayern dominated the league once again and won the title with games left to play, which is no ordinary feat and reflects their outstanding quality

Oliver Bierhoff: FC Bayern set themselves the highest of standards, both domestically and across Europe. They have made their mark on the Bundesliga again this year, and are an exemplary club. They deserve great respect and the utmost of recognition. Uli Hoeness, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, and the entire club deserve nothing but praise.
