Götze throws first pitch before MLB match

World Cup winner Mario Götze has been using his holiday to make an appearance in the Major League Baseball in North America. The 23-year-old, who like other Germany internationals has been granted an extended holiday from his club Bayern München, threw the first pitch to kick off the MLB game between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Mets.

Götze savoured what was clearly for him a very exciting experience with multiple photos on his social network profiles. “What an experience! Thanks for the great reception”, he wrote on Facebook, making light humour of the fact that his throw was somewhat wide the catcher and the homebase! “I can improve”, he tweeted with three laughing smileys.

The Dodgers tweeted the video along with the message: “Probably would have hit the post and gone in.”
