DFB-Pokal winners Borussia Dortmund will have to carry on without Germany international Mario Götze, whose first half of the season has ended early. According to the club, the forward has suffered partial ligament tears to his right ankle. The former Bayern Munich player will be out for six weeks and is only set for a return in the New Year.
The 25-year-old had only recently made a return to BVB and the Germany team this season after recovering from a metabolic disorder. Götze scored a goal for Dortmund in the spectacular 4-4 Revierderby against Schalke 04.
