Goessling, Maier and Kerschowski return home

Three members of the Germany Women's national team did not make the trip to Hungary following a 4-0 away victory against Russia in the penultimate European Championship qualifier. As agreed upon beforehand with national team coach Steffi Jones, Lena Goeßling, Isabel Kerschowski and Leonie Maier have returned home while Essen's Sara Doorsoun will join the squad.

The Germany Women's national team will face Hungary in Györ on Tuesday in their final EURO qualifier. Steffi Jones' team has a perfect record so far with 21 points from seven games, scoring 34 goals in the process and keeping seven clean sheets. Germany had already qualified for the 2017 EURO's in the Netherlands prior to the Olympic Games.
