Lena Goeßling has ruled herself out of the upcoming European qualifiers against Turkey (Friday, 16:00 CEST) and Croatia (the following Thursday, 18:00 CEST). The VfL Wolfsburg midfielder picked up a knock in her knee in the DFB semi-final match against Freiburg. Silvia Neid has nominated Lyon’s Pauline Bremer to replace her in the squad.
The DFB squad met up on Monday in Gütersloh, and have begun preparations for the two matches. The first thing on the schedule is a medical check, and then a session in the afternoon. The girls will be put through a performance analysis session on Tuesday before flying to Istanbul on Wednesday afternoon
