Goalless draw in Greece

Germany's Under 21 National team started the year with a goalless draw in Athens against host Greece on Wednesday.

In a levelled match Greece had bigger chances to score. In the first minute Thanassis Karagounis failed alone in front of goalkeeper Kevin Trapp, who also stopped a 30-metre-shot by Kyriakos Papadopoulos (6th) brilliantly.

Three players gained their first cap for the team of coach Rainer Adrion: Christian Clemens (1. FC Köln), Daniel Didavi (VfB Stuttgart) and Felix Kroos (Werder Bremen).

Both teams will meet again in the qualifying matches for the European Championships 2013 in Israel. Other opponents are San Marino, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Belarus and Cyprus.
