Gladbach keep on dreaming

On Sunday Borussia Mönchengladbach ended Round 19 of the German Bundesliga yet with another win. After the 3-0 (1-0) at VfB Stuttgart the surprise team of the season are still only one point behind the leading trio. In another Sunday match Mainz 05 celebrated a vital 3-1 (3-0) against relegation rivals SC Freiburg.

Bayern München defended their top position in round 19 of the Bundesliga with a 2-0 (0-0) over VfL Wolfsburg and their former head coach Felix Magath. Mario Gomez and Arjen Robben scored to secure the first win in 2012. Borussia Dortmund keeps pace with Bayern after a 3-1 (2-0) against 1899 Hoffenheim.

Schalke stays in the hunt of the two top teams by winning 4-1 (0-1) against Köln in the late game on saturday. Lukas Podolski scored early for the hosts, but Ciprian Marica (2), Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Marco Höger turned things around for Schalke, which stays in third placed, equal by points to Bayern and Dortmund.

In a meeting between two teams fighting for the fifth place, Werder Bremen and Bayer Leverkusen tied in a 1-1 (1-0). Claudio Pizarro (Bremen) and Stefan Reinartz (Leverkusen) scored for their teams. Hamburger SV fought back from a 1-5 last sunday against Dortmund, winning 2-1 (2-0) at Berlin. FC Augsburg and 1. FC Kaiserslautern also tied things up with a 2-2 (1-1).

After 96 days without a win in Bundesliga Hannover is back on track. The team of coach Mirko Slomka won the match against 1. FC Nürnberg 1-0 (1-0) on the 19th round of Bundesliga.

Norwegian striker Mohammed Abdellaoue scored his 10th goal in his 16th match of this round. Due to the win the Niedersachsen have 27 points and are 7th of the table. Two points behind Bayer Leverkusen the team of coach Slomka is allowed to dream of qualifiying for the international competition next year.

Nürnberg is in danger of being relegated. The Club collected only 21 points and is still only four points off to the relegation place 16.
