Germany U20 side lose 3-2 to Greuther Fürth

The Germany U20s side suffered a narrow friendly loss at the hands of 2. Bundesliga side SpVgg Greuther Fürth. The team, coached by Frank Kramer, lost 3-2 but they showed plenty of promise ahead of their game against Czech Republic on Monday (18:00 CEST).

Kramer’s outlook on the game was positive, despite the defeat, “It was a really good test. The lads who played hadn’t played much together as a team and you could see that in the opening 20 minutes. So at first we had to organise ourselves but once we did that, we played very well. We had a good team dynamic, created chances and defended well. Overall, I thought our performance was impressive and it was a good game to watch.”

The scorers for Germany were Jonas Behounek (Hamburger SV) and Gökhan Gül (Fortuna Düsseldorf). After coming from behind to lead 2-1 halfway through the second half, the youngsters lost to a 91st minute goal from Lukas Gugganig.
